Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Curly Tale Games LLC, doing business as Rinth Labs ("Rinth Labs," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information in connection with Nabist software and nabist.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when purchasing a license (name, email address, and payment details processed by Stripe) and basic data required for license activation (machine identifier and activation date). We do not collect or have any access to content you capture using Nabist.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to process purchases, manage license activations, provide customer support, and send transactional communications such as receipts, license keys, security notices, and mandatory product update notifications. We do not send promotional or marketing emails without your consent, and we do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage

Purchase and license data is stored securely using AWS infrastructure in the United States. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store full credit card numbers or payment credentials.

4. Screen Captures & Recordings

Nabist processes all screen captures, recordings, and annotations entirely on your local machine. Rinth Labs never uploads, accesses, views, or stores any screenshots, videos, or annotated content you create.

Nabist includes optional integrations that allow you to upload content to third-party services you control, such as your own FTP server, Amazon S3 bucket, or Imgur. When you use these features, your content is sent directly from your machine to that third-party service. Rinth Labs is never in the data path and has no access to content uploaded through these integrations. You are solely responsible for the privacy and security of content stored on those services.

5. Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics for website analytics. Plausible is privacy-focused, uses no cookies, and collects no personal data or individual user identifiers.

The Nabist application collects the following anonymous, aggregate usage data to help us improve the product: application version, operating system version, which capture features are used (e.g., screenshot vs. screen recording), and crash/error reports. This data contains no personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to you. You may opt out of in-app analytics at any time in the Settings menu.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:

When you use Nabist's optional upload integrations (FTP, S3, Imgur), you are interacting with those services directly under your own account. Rinth Labs has no visibility into or responsibility for how those services handle your data.

7. Your Rights (All Users)

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (email address and license records) at any time via our data deletion page or by contacting privacy@nabist.com. Requests are processed within 30 days.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. California residents have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared. You also have the right to request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@nabist.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

9. EU / EEA Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the following applies under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Legal Basis for Processing: We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — processing your purchase, issuing your license key, and managing activations.
  • Legitimate interests — sending transactional communications about your license and collecting anonymous aggregate usage statistics to improve the product.
  • Legal obligation — retaining transaction records as required by applicable law.

Your GDPR Rights: You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Request erasure of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Request restriction of processing or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Receive your personal data in a portable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

International Data Transfers: Your personal data is stored on AWS infrastructure in the United States. The United States does not have an adequacy decision from the European Commission. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms to protect your data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at nabist.com/privacy and update the "Last updated" date below. For material changes, we will provide notice by email where reasonably practicable.
